Lake Ranau

Lake Ranau is the second largest lake in Sumatra. The lake was formed by a massive earthquake and volcanic eruptions. A big river which previously flowed at the foot of the volcano turned into a ravine. Various types of plants including shrubs that are locally known as Ranau, grows on the banks of the lake and the remains of the mountain became Mount Seminung, which stands tall beside the lake that have clean water. 
The lake is located on the border between West Lampung regency in Lampung and Ogan Ogan Ulu (OKU) South in South Sumatra. This lake has a cold weather. To enter this lake, visitors must pay 1,000.00 per person plus Rp4.000,00 for parking.

Marisa Island is located in the middle of the lake. Have natural hot springs. The island also has a waterfall and extensive rice fields, and most of the land is covered by forests and inhabited by some primates.Walkaround:For touring around the lake which has an area of ​​44 km2, visitors can use a motor boat, known as Ketek. Accommodation: 
Although remote, these attractions have begun to be developed. There is a hotel which is managed by PT Pusri which is located on the shores of the lake. If you want to stay in a cheaper place, you can rent a room in homes around Rp30.000,00 per night.

Transportation: 
From the airport Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II in Palembang, visitors can rent a car to Lake Ranau. If you want to use public transportation, you can use a bus or other type of local transportation in Balfour, but public transportation in South Sumatra usually operates only when the market is open, ie every Wednesday.
